Walton targets to sale 10 lakh fridges centering Eid-ul-Azha

Centering the Eid-ul-Azha or Qurbani Eid, the country’s electronics giant ‘Walton’ has set a target of selling out 10 lakh units of fridge during the month of July and August of 2019.

Golam Murshed, executive director and chief executive officer of Walton Fridge Department, said that nearly 6 lakh units of fridge were sold out during the ahead of last year’s Qurbani Eid.

This year, he said, the target of Walton is to make a new record of selling 10 lakh pieces of fridge in the domestic market during the period of Eid-ul-Fitr to Eid-ul-Azha.

To achieve the target, they undertook extensive initiatives just after the Eid-ul-Fitr of this year, he said adding that the initiatives are: increased the fridge production at Walton Hi-Tech Industries, created sufficient stocks at every outlets across the country, released of around 50 numbers of new models, declared special benefits for the customers.

On the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, customers of Walton brand refrigerators and freezers are offered Tk 1 million (10 lakh) on the registration of their fridges just after the purchase from any Walton plaza, distributor outlet or E-plaza during the period of July 1 to till the Qurbani Eid.

Moreover, customers may get Tk 1 lakh cash, sure cash vouchers or various sorts of appliances like fridge, TV etc. as free.

Already, several numbers of customers of Walton fridge got Tk 1 million each in the last month. Some of them were: Jakir Hossain from Walton’s exclusive distributor ‘Sony Electronics’ in Chandpur, Md Yeasin and Laila Begum from Walton Plaza at Academy Road in Feni, Abdur Rahim from Messer’s Haque Enterprise at Shawrupkathi in Pirojpur, Nazmul Hossain from Nilachal Electronics in Cumilla Cantonment and Md Miraj Hawlader from Asha Enterprise in Khulna Shibbari.

Uday Hakim, executive director of Walton Group, said that Walton brand fridge are in the customers’ top choice.

Now, Walton is meeting around 75 percent of the entire local demands for fridges, mentioning it he added that every year they are registering continuous growth in the sales of fridge. Thus, he said, this year Walton targeted to sale out 20 lakh units of fridge in the domestic market.

Walton is now marketing 135 models of fridge, including 103 models of frost refrigerator, 20 models of non-frost refrigerator and 12 models of freezers.

Centering the upcoming Qurbani Eid, Walton released around 50 new models of refrigerators. Of which, 37 models are of frost and 5 models of non-frost refrigerators.
