Bangladeshi tech-giant Walton has become the title sponsor of the upcoming test series between Bangladesh and New Zealand. The official name of the event will be ‘Walton Test Series’.
On Tuesday (December 28, 2021) a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between the authorities of Walton and ITW sports management. Walton’s Senior Executive Director Uday Hakim, Chief Marketing Officer Firoj Alam and ITW’s Bangladesh Representative Omar Hoque were present in the signing ceremony on behalf of their respective organizations at Walton’s media office in the capital.
Walton will get additional priorities and facilities in ground and media coverage as a title sponsor of the two-Test series, according to the agreement.
Uday Hakim said that it is a matter of pride for Bangladesh that Walton is going to sponsor an international tournament. It’s an example that the Bangladeshi organizations are now dominating the world arena. Walton is with cricket and will always be. Wherever there is cricket, there is Walton.
Walton has been sponsoring almost all major domestic cricket events in Bangladesh for a long time with maintaining regular title sponsorship of international cricket events. It’s now known as a cricket-friendly organization in home and abroad.
According to the fixture, the first match will be started at the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui on January 1, 2022 while the second game will be hosted at the Hagley Oval in Christchurch starting from January 9.
The Bangladesh team is now staying in New Zealand and busy with practicing after ending home quarantine period. Two TV channels- Gazi TV and T Sports- will telecast the game live.
