The Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the University of Information Technology & Sciences (UITS) successfully organized a seminar on “Outcome-Based Education (OBE) & Excellence in Teaching and Learning (ETL)” on September 24, 2024. The seminar, held in the Conference Room, aimed to provide newly appointed faculty members with essential knowledge and skills to enhance their teaching practices.
A total of 24 faculty members from 10 different departments attended the seminar. The event was graced by the presence of Professor Dr. Md. Abu Hashan Bhuiyan, the Honorable Vice-Chancellor of UITS, as the Chief Guest. Professor Dr. Siraj Uddin Ahmed, the Treasurer of UITS, also attended the seminar as a Special Guest.
Engineer Md. Safaet Hossain, Director of IQAC, presided over the seminar and delivered an insightful presentation on OBE. Shamima Akter, Additional Director of IQAC and Assistant Professor of Marketing, Department of Business Studies, presented on teaching and learning pedagogy and also served as the anchor of the seminar.
The seminar covered vital topics related to OBE principles, effective teaching methodologies, and assessment strategies. The newly appointed faculty members gained valuable knowledge and practical insights to improve their teaching effectiveness and contribute to the university’s academic excellence.
