To help contain the spread of COVID-19 and to set the highest safety standards in these challenging times, Uber has spearheaded the formation of a Transport Safety Alliance (TSA) in partnership with DBL Pharma, Zantrik, Dettol (Reckitt Benckiser) and Fresh Tissue. The alliance will generate safety awareness amongst consumers, and equip drivers with necessary health and safety supplies to ensure safer rides.
As a part of the Alliance, Uber and its allies will distribute key safety supplies such as masks, soaps, tissues and sanitisers to its drivers from Zantrik-provided distribution points. Reckitt Benckiser will provide Dettol soap bars free of charge, and Fresh will contribute tissue paper boxes for distribution to drivers.
In April, DBL Pharma had sponsored all costs of a 3rd party led offline initiative, Project Crack Platoon, for free transportation of healthcare professionals using Uber driver partners, who were funded and provided full-bodied PPE. This time around, DBL will provide masks for Uber driver-partners.
Commenting on the formation of the TSA, Ratul Ghosh, Head of East India & Bangladesh, said, “In these challenging times, the one thing that hasn’t changed is Uber’s commitment towards the economy, safety of our communities, and to #MoveWhatMatters. We formed this alliance with the single objective of joining forces with reputed organisations and brands to provide the highest safety standards. I am thankful to all our partners for their valuable contributions.”
“As always, we will continue to invest in tech, safety protocols and will comply with all government guidelines to help keep everyone who uses the Uber platform safe,” Ratul added.
“We believe Dettol has a critical role to play in promoting hygiene and health in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic and we are trying to take every measure to ensure that. We are thankful to all the partners and committed to ensure the objectives of this alliance are achieved.” said, Vishal Gupta, General Manager at Reckitt Benckiser (Bangladesh) Ltd.
Uber is committed to supporting its communities in these incredibly challenging times. Working collaboratively with other organizations increases the possibility of containing the spread of the virus and puts communities on the path to recovery.

About Uber
Uber’s mission is to create opportunity through movement. We started in 2010 to solve a simple problem: how do you get access to a ride at the touch of a button? More than 15 billion trips later, we’re building products to get people closer to where they want to be. By changing how people, food, and things move through cities, Uber is a platform that opens up the world to new possibilities.
