Bishwo Shahitto Kendro, in association with bKash, the largest mobile financial service provider in the country, expanded its book reading program in Sreemangal with a view to enlightening the future generation through books.
Following the successful contribution of last 5 years, bKash will provide 40,000 more books to the Nationwide Enrichment (Book Reading) program of Bishwo Shahitto Kendro in 2020. After the inauguration of this year’s program at Motijheel Government Girls School in the capital, the program further expanded today with two schools of Sreemangal – Udayan Girls High School and Victoria High School.
The program was arranged at Mohsin Auditorium of Sreemangal where the books were handed over to the students. Khairul Alam Sabuj, renowned author and actor; Humayun Kabir, Head of Regulatory and Corporate Affairs of bKash; Kabita Rani Das, Principal of Udayan Girls High School and Ayan Chowdhury, Principal of Victoria High School were present at the program.The program was conducted by Mesbah Uddin Ahmed Sumon, Joint Director of Bishwo Shahitto Kendro.
bKash has been supporting the ‘Nationwide Enrichment (Book Reading) Program’ of Bishwo Shahitto Kendro since 2014 to encourage the students in reading books. More than 2.5 lac books have been distributed to 2,500 institutes countrywide from this program till now.
The book reading program is designed for the students of class 6 to 10. Every year, more than 50 thousand students are benefited through this endeavour.
Eminent writer and actor Khairul Alam Sabuj said, “There are two types of people in the world- those who read books and those who don’t. The difference can be understood easily. Reading books makes anyone developed and progressive. In this extraordinary initiative by Bishwo Shahitto Kendro, bKash is taking part actively to make the young generation truly enlightened.”
