Steelcase, global leader in office furniture and innovative workspace solutions, announced their presence in Bangladesh 14th March. The showroom opening was declared at Dhaka, with demonstration of a range of latest product innovations by Steelcase.
Developed in partnership with Work Space Technology, the new showroom at Ventura Triveni will further strengthen the presence of Steelcase in the Asia-Pacific region. After the launch of the Sri Lanka dealership in 2018, Steelcase has marked its entry into its second country in South-East Asia.
In a fast paced economy like Bangladesh, Steelcase’s user centric architecture, furniture and technology solutions will help the companies present in different sectors create workplaces that enable a meaningful people experience, while effectively optimizing the use of space. Though the domestic furniture market is growing at a rapid pace, the quality, especially in workplace management, lacks this kind of in depth knowledge and research.
The showroom opens doors to local and international businesses in Bangladesh, and will provide them with comprehensive workplace research, latest trends and an in-depth knowledge quotient from around the globe. The company is at the forefront of research, not only about the way people actually work but also how workplaces will look and feel like in the future.
A recent 14-country Gallup Study conducted in collaboration with the global market research firm IPSOS, found that nearly a quarter of the world’s 1.3 billion full-time employees are actively disengaged in their work, outnumbering their engaged colleagues by nearly 1:2. The study revealed there is a direct correlation between employee engagement and work environment. The more satisfied an employee is, the more likely he or she is to be highly engaged.
To explain this Praveen Rawal, Managing Director, India and South-East Asia, said, “In an interconnected business world that is undergoing constant change, with the ability for individuals and teams to work anywhere, anytime, around the world, the ways people work and the workplace they need to support them to be their most productive and successful, is rapidly evolving. We are happy to work with WST, who have a valuable experience in designing workplaces in Bangladesh and will provide the optimum workplace solutions to our customers.”
Welcoming the partnership with Steelcase, Mizanur Rahman Chowdhury, Managing Partner of Work Space Technology, said, “We are delighted to partner with Steelcase, a world leader in the design and manufacture of furniture for commercial workplaces. Our joint synergies will contribute to new designs and enhance productivity in Bangladeshi workplaces. WST is already deeply engaged in designing commercial interiors, and I believe this partnership will add immense value to workplaces in the country. Employee engagement and wellbeing are issues of growing importance for companies, and we look forward to offering our expert solutions to address the emerging needs.”
