Shariatpur Will be The Country’s Second Digital Village
With the power of e-commerce, Shariatpur has come under the mission of spreading from the village to the world- Digital Commerce project. After the successful implementation of Saturia in Manikganj as a ‘Digital Polli’ focusing on Grameen Tant, the Ministry of Commerce and e-Commerce Association of Bangladesh (e-CAB) have taken this new initiative.
On Thursday (December 1, 2022), a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between the Ministry of Commerce and e-CAB at the BPC Conference Center in Motijheel. Commerce Ministry Additional Secretary and BPC Coordinator Md. Abdur Rahim Khan and e-CAB General Secretary Mohammad Abdul Waheed Tamal signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.
Among others, Director of e-Commerce Association of Bangladesh (e-CAB) Md Saiedur Rahman, Digital Polli Team representatives Ibrahim Khalil, Zahidujjaman Sayed, Mir Sahed Ali & Morium Sultana and Executive Director of ICT Business promotion council MD. Faisal Khan were present.
According to the agreement, Digital Polli team will implement the country’s second digital village by February 20, 2023 by selecting promising villages of Shariatpur. Through this, the power of e-commerce will open the way to connect the rural economy with global trade.
