Samsung and GP introduce Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 edge

Samsung Mobile Bangladesh, in association with Grameenphone Limited, officially launched its entirely redefined smartphones, the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge at a press conference today in Dhaka. Creating a new standard for design, craftsmanship and performance, the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge seamlessly blend premium materials with the most advanced Samsung technology to offer consumers an unmatched mobile experience.

Grameenphone presented the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 edge, through a grand launch event in Dhaka. The devices were unveiled at the event by Allan Bonke, Chief Marketing Officer, Grameenphone and Choon Soo Moon, Managing Director, Samsung Electronics, Bangladesh Branch Office, among others.

“With the all new Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge, Samsung is offering what’s next in mobility as we have developed the features based on insights and needs we found from our consumers all around the world that will also serve our local market,” said Mr. Hasan Mehdi, Head of Mobile, at Samsung Bangladesh. “We have learned from our experience, and we are trying to push forward new technologies and ideas. With innovative design, strong partner network and unique services, the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge offer users the universal experience in smartphone options.”

Speaking on the occasion Mr. Allan Bonke, Chief Marketing Officer Grameenphone said, “As the leader in the telecom market in Bangladesh, Grameenphone always strives to provide the best for its customers. We are equally proud that our customers will be the first to get the Samsung S6 device in their hands.” Commenting on the Grameenphone’s Internet for All ambition to incorporate 50 million internet users on its network, the GP CMO added that “Grameenphone has introduced an extended EMI program of 24 months so that GP customers can get the phone at an even more affordable cost.”

The Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge are equipped with an incredibly vivid, bright and fast front and rear camera. They sport incredibly fast wired charging, 1.5 times faster than the Galaxy S5, providing about 4 hours of usage after only 10 minutes of charging. The thin (6.8 mm/7.0mm edge) and lightweight (138g /132g edge) Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge integrate the most advanced, cutting-edge, Samsung core technology available today. The Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge are built on the upgraded Samsung KNOX, end-to-end secure mobile platform, offering defense-grade features for real-time protection from potential malicious attacks.

The Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge will be first available for Grameenphone pre-booking customers on 14 April 2015. It will be commercially available in Bangladesh starting from 17 April 2015 in White Pearl, Black Sapphire, Gold Platinum, Blue Topaz (Galaxy S6 only) and Green Emerald (Galaxy S6 edge only).
