The new board of the Dhaka chapter of TiE Global, world’s largest network of Entrepreneurs, took charge in a meeting held recently. The board was presided over by Rubaba Dowla, who has been elected as the new President of TiE Dhaka. Barrister A.B.M Hamidul Mishbah will serve as the VP of the Tie Dhaka chapter.
Rubaba Dowla has more than nineteen years of experience in influencing all aspects of the telecom and IT industry as a successful professional, entrepreneur, mentor and advisor. She is a highly experienced leader with a successful track record. At present, she is the Founder and Managing Director of Pulse Healthcare Service, a Digital healthcare platform connecting Doctors and Patients across the country. She aims to transform the quality of healthcare service in Bangladesh for the mass by leveraging relevant technologies. As Chief of Marketing and Chief Communications Officer, she had been instrumental in building Telenor subsidiary GrameenPhone as number one brand and market leader. She also successfully served as the Chief Service Officer, Head of Mcommerce and PR of Airtel Bangladesh. She serves as Director and member of various boards and associations and has won many international and national accolades for her contribution in Telecom and as woman leader. Barrister A.B.M Hamidul Mishbah is the Managing Partner of Old Bailey Chambers. He has contributed as a member in the working committee for drafting the National ICT Policy 2009 and assisted BTRC, DCCI in drafting various licensing and policy guidelines. He is also the founder of Bangladesh Copyright and Industrial Property Forum (BCIPF), a non-profit organization that solely focuses on promotion and protection of intellectual property rights within Bangladesh.
Additionally, Qantara Khan (Director, Green Engineering & Development Ltd) will be serving as Treasurer. The other board directors are Syed Almas Kabir (President Basis and Chief Executive Officer, MetroNet Bangladesh Limited), Tahsin Aman (Vice Chairman, Aman Group), Mantasha Ahmed (Director, Reela’s Bangladesh), Tareq Rafi Bhuiyan (MD and Co-founder, NewVision Solutions, Ltd). Furthermore, Sonia Bashir Kabir (MD, Microsoft Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan & Laos) and Shameen Ahsan (Chairman of eGeneration), who have been Presidents for the previous terms, will be serving as Advisors for TiE Dhaka.
The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) was founded in 1992 in Silicon Valley by a group of successful entrepreneurs, corporate executives, and senior professionals with roots in the Indus region. It is a non-profit organization devoted to entrepreneurs in all industries, at all stages, from incubation, throughout the entrepreneurial lifecycle. There are currently 13,000 members, including over 2,500 charter members in 61 chapters across 18 countries.
TiE Dhaka mission is to foster entrepreneurship through mentoring, networking, education, incubating, and funding. TiE Dhaka aims to launch various flagship programs for startups, university students and women entrepreneurs in the coming months to assist entrepreneurs.
