Robi and MILVIK observe World Breast Cancer awareness month 

The leading digital service provider of the country, Robi, and MILVIK Bangladesh is jointly observing the World Breast Cancer awareness month, October in Chattogram. As part of the commitment to raise awareness of the disease three-day breast awareness and health camps were offered in CNB, Bayjid and Pahartoli areas of Chattogram and a live Facebook Q&A will take place on 13th October 2018 .

Breast cancer accounts for around 12 percent of all cancers in Bangladesh and around a quarter of female cancers. Breast cancer awareness and recognizing the signs and symptoms of breast cancer early can help save lives. Specialist doctors were on hand to offer awareness tips on breast cancer and general doctors provided free health check ups to 3000 members of the community. Activities including quizzes, game shows, selfie contest & a message board were arranged to engage the crowd, wherein message boardithad,many powerful voices around breast cancer awareness.

To continue to spread awareness of the signs and symptoms of breast cancer during October Associate Professor Obstetrics & Gynecology, ShaheedSohrawardi Medical College & Hospital, DrRuhiJakariagave alive awareness talk and Q&A session on Facebook, to raise awareness on this disease.

Speaking at the inauguration occasion, Robi’s Cluster Market Director for Eastern Cluster, A. S. M. Enayetur Rahimsaid: “Breast cancer is a dangerous disease. The best way to tackle it is to come together as a community and develop resistance through raising awareness on it. We are very happy to have Milvik Bangladesh joining us in this noble mission. We would be happy if our initiative could contribute even the slightest in battling this life-threatening disease.”

Milvik Bangladesh’s General Manager Shreya Sarkar said, “MyHealth health camps are an attempt to reach out to our communities and help them get access to medical help & consultation through quality physicians. Breast cancer is one of those deadly diseases which we believe can be best averted through timely awareness & this month, we have attempted to reach out to the communities and especially to females. Milvik and Robi are happy to spread the awareness drive this month. We hope we can reach to those in need.”

Md. Saifuddin Khaled, number four ward counsellor of Chandgaon, Md. Mobarok Ali, number seven, ward counsellor of west sholoshohor and S M Arshad Ullah, number 25 ward counsellor inaugurated the health camps in Chattogram.
