Rakuten Viber doubles the maximum number of group call to 20 participants at once for working remotely due to Coronavirus

With the growing pandemic in the world due to the COVID-19 epidemic, countless people are being quarantined after exposure, and numerous companies globally have requested their employees to work from home.

In an effort to combat these tense situations and people’s need to be always connected to your loved ones Rakuten Viber has recently doubled the maximum number of participants of a group call and supports up to 20 people at once.

Since COVID-19 can spread easily in large groups, companies can now easily conduct brainstorming sessions through voice calls. Group calls are a great way to bypass the risk of meetings. Viber has doubled the number of participants in group calls to help everyone stay connected despite COVID-19.

Regarding this, Ofir Eyal, Chief Operating Officer, Rakuten Viber said, “We are committed to finding more ways for people to connect in groups during this challenging time without having to be physically in the same place. With more people working remotely, in response to the spread of the Coronavirus, we want to do our part to ensure that people have a safe and secure environment to stay connected with loved ones and to be able to continue to do their jobs from wherever they are.”

Moreover, Viber supports easy file sharing that can help coworkers and business partners to send important reports and presentations to each other. Files up to 200MB can be directly shared within the app. For bigger files, people can easily share links to cloud services on the Viber chat.

The desktop version of Viber also supports chats and calls, letting coworkers and clients meet from the security of their home. It also has a cool screen sharing feature, which allows people to share what they are doing on their computer screen. This is a really useful feature, especially when someone wants to watch a video together or give a quick tutorial of a working app to others.

On top of it, nowadays, everyone is wary of international travel. Thus, with the help of Viber Out, anyone can easily call a cellphone or landline number globally for just an $8.99 (approximately BDT 762) a month.
