Popular ride-sharing service OBHAI has launched special travel arrangements in the form of OBHAI Sheba™ for doctors, nurses, healthcare workers, hospital staff and patients to commute to hospitals or healthcare centers and return home amidst the current COVID-19 crisis.
No different in Bangladesh, the global COVID-19 outbreak has put majority of the countries on the backfoot, continuing to bring adverse shock on the financial, social, and economic aspects. Given the present epidemic, it has become difficult for the patients and medical personnel to travel to and from the required vicinity. Several patients are being delayed of treatments owing to shortage of transportation available.
Through their respective positions, the government, state institutions and other organizations have extended their helping hand in dealing with this situation. As a service-oriented organization, OBHAI has always emphasized in supporting the drivers and passengers, prioritizing in bridging opportunities the most. Based on that effort, the company has now taken part in the fight against coronavirus with its own manpower and vehicles.
“The novel coronavirus or Covid-19 has largely paralyzed our public life. At present, many people are failing to receive medical treatment due to lack of safe means of transportation. It has also become difficult for the doctors to provide medical care,” OBHAI authorities discussed. They continued, “In view of the current situation, OBHAI has taken the initiative of OBHAI Sheba™ to provide its own manpower and means of transportation. The organization hopes that OBHAI’s efforts at least will help to ease people’s suffering a little bit.”
With the green signal from the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), the emergency service OBHAI Sheba™ is being operated through OBHAI G (sedan car) and OBHAI CNG while maintaining maximum health safety precautions. This system has been set up to ensure the well-being of the drivers by initially setting up area based OBHAI hubs. Besides, OBHAI is also providing hand sanitizers, tissues, etc. for the health safety of passengers and drivers. For the extended safety measures, OBHAI drivers are getting the opportunity to use masks, face shields, gloves etc. As a precautionary measure, the driver will disinfect the vehicle each time by using the disinfectant provided by OBHAI as soon as the ride is over. For this, OBHAI provides special training and disinfectant to the drivers.
In order to attain the OBHAI Sheba™ emergency vehicle service, passengers can book a ride by means of a booking form available on OBHAI’s Facebook and Instagram pages, calling the OBHAI Call Center number 16633, contacting the Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/ObhaiSolutions/) or on WhatsApp (+8801313037546). Passengers can book the ride at least 1 hour to 24 hours prior of taking the ride.
OBHAI Sheba™ will initially operate only in Dhaka Metropolitan Area and plans to gradually expand all over Bangladesh namely Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Sylhet, Rajshahi, Khulna, Jashore, Bogra among others next week period. OBHAI hopes that normal life resumes soon, and together we can work to flatten the curve. With that belief, OBHAI has taken the Emergency Travel Services initiative OBHAI Sheba™ to make the journey of Bangladeshi citizens easier.
