Nagad was named the Gold winner in the ninth edition of the Asia-Pacific Stevie Award under the category of ‘Excellence in Innovation in Financial Industries category’ recently. More than 100 top executives from all across the world serving as judges declared Nagad, the arm of Bangladesh Postal Department’s mobile financial service, the Gold winner.
More than 900 nominations from organizations across the Asia-Pacific region were considered this year in categories such as Award for Excellence in Innovation in Products and Services, Award for Innovative Management and Award for Innovation in Corporate Websites, among many others.
Nagad won in the ‘Excellence in Innovation in Financial Industries’ category. Nagad’s innovation —the Electronic Know Your Customer (EKYC) and Digital Know Your Customer (DKYC), the streamlined process of opening a banking account by simply dialing *167# was the first of its kind innovation in the country. The MFS operator has been recognized through this prestigious Stevie award for its relentless efforts in bringing innovative and affordable digital payment options to customers.

The Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards are the only business awards program to recognize innovation in the workplace in all 29 nations of the Asia-Pacific region. The Stevie Awards are widely considered to be the world’s premier business awards, conferring recognition for achievement in programs such as The International Business Awards for 20 years.
