Apart from the district post offices, Bangladesh Post Office’s Digital Financial Service “Nagad” is now being provided by over 100,000 “Uddokta” around the country. These “Uddokta” will not only help customers to open account but also assist customers with relevant digital financial services through “Nagad”.
These progresses have been achieved after the honorable Prime Minister inaugurate the digital financial service on March 26, 2019.
Bangladesh Post Office states that, “BPO’s main objective is to reach out to the marginal population of the country with digital financial services through these Uddokta under the guidance of the Postal Division. This is also creating employment among the youth. BPO believes that this will continuously create a positive effect on the economy.”
Nagad has already initiated Digital KYC verification for ensuring hassle free user registration and verification process. To complete user registration process through Digital KYC, all one needs is a registered cell phone connection and national identity card. NID information will be cross matched to the Election Commission Database and the application form for user registration will be filled up automatically by retrieving data from Election Commission Database. This process will take only about couple of minutes for each user registration. Each individual customer NID will be used to open only “one” Nagad account.
