Nagad announces BDT 20 lakh for BPL champions Barishal

Tamim Iqbal-led Fortune Barishal have clinched their first-ever Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) title. During the celebration, Tamim invited Nagad Ltd. CEO Tanvir A. Mishuk to join the trophy celebration.

Upon a demand from senior players of Barishal, Tanvir A Mishuk got connected to a video call and announced a cash prize of BDT 20 lakh for winning the championship.

Barishal, often referred to as the team of oldies and unlucky too, previously reached BPL finals several times but suffered defeats. This time, they showed remarkable resilience.

They defeated hot favorites Cumilla Victorians by six wickets in the final.

The entire Barisal team was rejoicing after becoming the champion. At that time, Team captain Tamim Iqbal connected Tanvir A Mishuk through a video call.

Tanvir also congratulated Tamim and his team and announced the prize money. As soon as the announcement was made, there was a wave of excitement among the champion team.

The team does not have a direct association with Nagad.Tamim Iqbal is Nagad’s brand ambassador for several years. Additionally, Mushfiqur Rahim is associated with Nagad Islamic.

Mahmudullah Riyad and Mehedi Hasan Miraz have also worked for prompting Nagad in different ways.

It is to be mentioned that Nagad was associateded with this BPL season in the “powered by” category.

In the Friday’s BPL final, Comilla posted 154 runs, and in response, Barishal reached the target losing only four wickets.

Tamim Iqbal played a crucial innings, scoring 39 runs off 26 balls. Tamim emerged as the tournament’s highest run-scorer.

In the play-off, Mushfiqur Rahim played a match-winning knock. Mahmudullah also had a great tournament with the bat.
