Elon Musk, one of U.S. President Donald Trump’s top advisors and the world’s wealthiest individual, met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Blair House in Washington, D.C., on Thursday.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has begun a two-day visit to Washington, D.C. Shortly after arriving in Washington on Thursday, he held meetings with several high-ranking officials from the Trump administration, including Elon Musk, Michael Waltz, and Tulsi Gabbard.
Modi’s visit to the United States comes at a time when President Trump has issued threats regarding the imposition of tariffs.
Trump began his second term as President on January 20, and this marks Modi’s first visit to Washington during Trump’s second term.
Modi began his day on Thursday with a meeting with U.S. National Security Advisor Michael Waltz. Later, at Blair House in Washington, he met with Elon Musk, one of President Trump’s top advisors and the world’s richest person.
In addition to these meetings, Modi also held discussions with Vivek Ramaswamy, a leader of the Republican Party. Earlier, upon arriving in Washington, D.C., on Thursday, Modi first met with Tulsi Gabbard, the newly appointed Director of the U.S. National Intelligence Agency.
Modi traveled to Washington, D.C., on Thursday after concluding a two-day visit to France, where he held bilateral talks with French President Emmanuel Macron.
Before his meeting with Trump, Modi stated that he was looking forward to meeting his friend Donald Trump. He also mentioned the collaborative work they had done during Trump’s first term.
