Bangladesh’s star all-rounder, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, has made a heartwarming gesture following his team’s recent victory over Pakistan. He has donated his entire ‘Man of the Series’ prize money to the family of a rickshaw puller who tragically lost his life during the student-led Anti-Discrimination movement.
Miraz, instrumental in Bangladesh’s 2-0 series triumph, expressed his deep respect for the students who sacrificed their lives for the cause. He was particularly moved by the story of the rickshaw puller who was injured during the protests and later succumbed to his injuries.
In a touching act of solidarity, Miraz handed over a substantial sum of money to the rickshaw puller’s family. He shared his decision on social media, accompanied by a poignant photo of him with the grieving family.
Miraz acknowledged that the monetary contribution could never replace the life lost but hoped it would provide some relief and support to the family during their difficult time. His selfless act has earned him widespread admiration and respect for his compassion and empathy.
