Minister of Sleeping and Singing!(Video)

What a fun! He is a Minister Minister of Sleeping and Singing! It is often seen him taking a power NAP in the stage and singing now and then.

Mohsin Ali, designated for the welfare of the society, has another time had a nap on the stage during a programme in Comilla when he also sang a song, habitually, and could not refrain from smoking.

A lawmaker from Moulvibazar 3 constituency, “chain smoker” Mohsin first triggered huge criticism after smoking on the stage at a reception programme for school students in Sylhet on January 27. He later apologised.

Recently, the minister had been seen taking a nap when Comilla lawmaker AKM Bahauddin Bahar was saying: “Bangabandhu [Sheikh Mujibur Rahman] awakened this nation; likewise, Mao Zedong of China did so for his people. We all have to take the responsibility to revive this nation.”

MP Bahar was the special guest at the fourth founding anniversary programme of Khairunnesa Medical College and Hospital. Former secretary ATM Shamsul Huq and Deputy Commissioner Hasanuzzaman Kollol were on the stage among others. Diabetic Association of Bangladesh President Prof AK Azad Khan presided over the discussion.

The minister in his “untuned” voice sang “Aaj Holo Shonibar – Kaal Kono Kaj Nei, Raat Jege Tomakei Bhabchhi” (It’s Saturday today, I’ve no task for tomorrow; so passing the night thinking only of you), apparently only to make the audience burst into laughter.

Saying that it was not a romantic song, rather one hailing socialism, Mohsin completed the song.

At that time, when the photojournalists wanted to take his picture, Mohsin asked them to step aside.

He said the country needed hard-working people who can play role changing the society. “Only then Bangladesh can become more developed than Malaysia and North Korea.”

The minister also said he was disheartened by news reports on clashes and killings within Chhatra League, Jubo League and Krishak League – wings of the ruling Awami League

“Discipline is discipline, command is command. We were also in Chhatra League but followed the directives of our leaders. You are indulging in clashes and killings for own interests; it is not right. Bangabandhu did not establish Chhatra League for this reason.”

He also announced allotment of Tk2 crore for the proposed hospital.

At one point of the event, he went to the backstage to smoke. The minister’s men surrounded him so that no one could take a picture.

Mohsin was also criticised heavily for hurling abuse towards journalists terming them “Khobish,” a Bangla slang roughly means disgusting and dirty. In attacking gesture, the minister in Sylhet on August 9 said journalists were “uneducated, non-graduate and also characterless.”
