Mastercard Celebrates Ramadan with ‘The Swiss Delight’ Campaign

Mastercardconcluded its‘The Swiss Delight’campaign todaywith an award ceremony in the national capital. Mr. Abdul Wadudwon the grand prizeof an all-expense paid, five-day, four-night trip fortwo to Zurich, Switzerland.The campaign was launched to encourage digital paymentsthrough credit, debit and prepaid cardsfor shopping during the holy month of Ramadan.The other winners receivedover 50 exciting prizes,including travel packages to thrilling locations, wrist watches, dinner coupons and gift vouchers.

During the campaign period, i.e., fromMay 1, 2019 till June 15, 2019, all Mastercard cardholders earnedtwo points for each local and overseas in-store or online transaction of BDT 1000 or more using their Mastercardbranded credit, debit or prepaid cards. The cardholderswith maximum points received prizes from Mastercard.

Md. MezbaulHoque, General Manager, Payment System Department, Bangladesh Bankgraced the awardceremony as the special guest. Dignitaries and senior officials from partner banks and financial organizations were also present at the program.

In his speech, Md. MezbaulHoquesaid, “The government is committed to bring digitization to every sector of Bangladesh as part of its goal to build a ‘Digital Bangladesh’. This vision is behind every initiative taken by the government and every endeavor it promotes. In an era of globalization and advanced digitization, we welcome any initiative that helps to take the country forward. ‘The Swiss Delight’ campaign that Mastercard ran has created an easy and attractive opportunity to build consumer interest in cashless and digital payment methods through Mastercard branded cards. Campaigns like this help to increase demand for products and encourage greater spending that help local economies to grow multifold.”

At the event, Syed Mohammad Kamal, Country Manager, Bangladesh, Mastercard said, “Mastercard strives to create unique opportunities for cardholders to have Priceless Experiences during special occasions such as the holy month of Ramadan and Eid, on purchases made with Mastercard cards. ‘The Swiss Delight’ campaign aimedto support Bangladesh’s goal of a cashless society by promoting digital payments. It also offered Mastercard cardholders a variety of exclusive privileges and discounts at more than 3,000 partner outlets across the country. Mastercard will continue to create initiatives such as these for cardholders, to make their card usage experiences safe and seamless, and to better meet their evolving payments needs.”

The partner banks and financial organizations affiliated with this campaign were AB Bank, Al-Arafah Bank, Brac Bank, Bank Asia, Eastern Bank Limited, Dutch Bangla Bank, Mutual Trust Bank, National Bank, Prime Bank, Premier Bank, Pubali Bank, The City Bank, United Commercial Bank, Southeast Bank, Standard Chartered Bank and Lankabangla Finance.
