Mastercard Announces Winners of ‘Explore Arabian Nights in Dubai with Mastercard’ Campaign

Mastercard today concluded its Explore Arabian Nights in Dubai with Mastercard campaign with an award ceremony. Sumaiya Tabassum won the grand prize, of an all-expense paid couple’s trip to Dubai. The campaign aimed to bolster domestic and overseas retail transactions by encouraging the use of credit, debit and prepaid cards during the months of November and December 2018. The other winners received a range of over 50 exciting gifts such as travel packages to other thrilling locations, iPad, wrist watches, dinner coupons and gift vouchers.

Throughout the winter season, starting from November 1 2018, leading up to December 31 2018, all Mastercard cardholders earned points by using their Mastercard branded credit, debit or prepaid cards. For every overseas retail transaction of USD 25 or more the cardholders received three points, and two points for every local retail or online transaction of BDT 1000 or more. The cardholders who earned maximum points based on the frequency of their transactions received prizes from Mastercard.

Zunaid Ahmed Palak, honorable State Minister for Information and Communication Technology, graced the occasion as the chief guest. Dignitaries and senior officials from partner banks and financial organizations were also present at the program.

In his speech, State Minister Zunaid said, “The present government believes in innovation and digitization of every sector. Putting this belief on top, the Information and Communication Technology division is ceaselessly working to advance Bangladesh. Over the decades, with new technology, Mastercard has rendered priceless services to its clients across the globe. This outstanding engagement by Mastercard induced its clients with lucrative offers as well as acquainting them with better experiences in both overseas and local transactions through Mastercard branded cards.”

At the event, Syed Mohammad Kamal, Country Manager, Mastercard Bangladesh said, “The campaign was designed with a mission to encourage electronic payments by rewarding cardholders, and the winter season was the perfect time as people love to shop and travel during this period. The grand prize of 3 nights and 4 days in Dubai, is truly the most priceless experience anyone can dream of. Today, Mastercard is excited to be here and felicitate the winners of this campaign. Mastercard believes that the effort has been successful in promoting overseas and local payments experiences in Bangladesh.”

AB Bank, Al-Arafah Bank, Brac Bank, Bank Asia, Eastern Bank Limited, Dutch Bangla Bank, Mutual Trust Bank, National Bank, Prime Bank, Premier Bank, Pubali Bank, The City Bank, United Commercial Bank, Southeast Bank, Standard Chartered Bank and Lankabangla Finance were the partner banks and financial organizations for this campaign.
