Kaspersky Lab to expand its business in Bangladesh with STBL

Kaspersky Lab to expand its business in Bangladesh with Smart Technologies (BD) Ltd. (STBL) as their distribution partner.

Kaspersky Lab co-operation with STBL conducted a press meet on 14th November 2018 at Bangabandhu International Conference Center, Bangladesh. The conference saw Kaspersky Lab along with their newest distribution partner together discussing how bullish the Bangladesh market looks for them and that they are looking forward to expansion in the region.

Kaspersky Lab, the global giant in cyber security, has been spreading its wings deeper globally over the past few years. With a steady increase in demand for industrial, business and personal cyber security products in India, Kaspersky has further strengthened its foothold with the appointment of Smart Technologies (BD) Ltd. (STBL) as its distribution partner in Bangladesh.

With this news appointment, Kaspersky Lab is expanding its distribution network in the region to support the growing market demand. Established in 1998, STBL has a strong presence in the deepest pockets of Bangladesh. It has over 1,200 employees and 180 service engineers that are extremely proficient in hardware, software, ITES, networking and ICT products.

Mr. Shrenik Bhayani, General Manager, South Asia, Kaspersky Lab said “We are thrilled to have STBL on board with us as our distributors in Bangladesh. Our strategy moving forward is to aggressively fight the cybercriminals targeting this region. The infamous 2016 Bangladesh Bank Heist of close to USD 1billion opened the eyes of many, it is a lesson that no region is completely secure and that cybersecurity needs to be given utmost importance. We have also seen a lot of interest from the country for long and Kaspersky Lab has been working on a systematic expansion plan for it. Bangladesh is an upcoming market, with a great demand for all our B2B as well as B2C products. We found STBL a suitable fit that understands the landscape, the people and the requirements of the region. We look forward to a great partnership ahead!”

Mohammad Zahirul Islam, Managing Director – STBL said, “Kaspersky Lab is one of the most respected names in the world of cybersecurity and we are very excited to join hands with them. With 20 years of experience, we are confident of taking its world-class products to all corners of Bangladesh. Like they have done globally, Kaspersky’s products are sure to save Bangladeshi people and businesses a lot of money and time in preventing cyber threats. Our teams will work seamlessly together and we are sure this will be a productive partnership not just for Kaspersky Lab and STBL, but also for the people of Bangladesh.”

The conference concluded with a loud and clear message that Kaspersky Lab is now stronger and bigger in Bangladesh with the help of STBL. The event ended on a powerful note of completely eradicating cybercriminals in the region.
