iDEA of ICT Division signs MoU with BUP to enrich the Startup Culture

The Innovation Design and Entrepreneurship Academy (iDEA) Project of Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) under the ICT Division and the Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) will work together to enrich the startup culture in Bangladesh, including undertaking developmental activities related to innovation and entrepreneurship. In the light of this, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on Wednesday afternoon, June 22, 2022 at the ICT Tower, Agargaon, in the conference room of the iDEA project of the ICT Division.

The MoU was signed between iDEA Project and BUP’s Bangladesh University of Professionals Human Resource and Leadership Club (BUP HRL) by the Project Director (Joint Secretary) of the iDEA Project Mr. Md. Altaf Hossain and the Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies of BUP Brigadier General Mr. Md. Moazzem Hossain, BGBM (Bar), PhD.

Among others, the Chairman of Department of Management Studies of BUP Dr. Md. Arifur Rahman, the Chairman of Department of Business Administration in Marketing of BUP the Lieutenant Colonel Sarder Ali Haider, BSP, ord, the Senior Consultant of iDEA Mr. RHM Alaol Kabir & Mr. Siddhartho Goushami, the Legal Consultant of iDEA Mrs. Adneen Zereen, the National Consultant (Communication) of the iDEA of ICT Division Mr. Shohag Chandra Das and other officials from BUP and iDEA Project were present at the time of MoU signing.

The Project Director of the iDEA Project Md. Altaf Hossain said that the core purpose of the MoU was to enrich the entrepreneurial culture at university level by providing the necessary resources, funding and appropriate networking to scale up. In addition, iDEA will work to create entrepreneurship among the younger generation and encourage them to lead, including creating different opportunities for youth development. He added that the two organizations will work together to provide appropriate resources, training and quality mentoring for innovators and entrepreneurs by utilizing and expanding the various facilities on both sides.

According to the MoU, iDEA and BUP HRL Club will jointly undertake different initiatives for the development of entrepreneurial culture including jointly organizing necessary sessions, training, mentoring, campaigns, seminars, awards and different programs. Note that iDEA Project will be a partner in the event called “House of Ventures” to be organized by BUP HRL Club. Arrangements will be made to provide grants to the winning startups from this initiative on the basis of evaluation by the iDEA Project Selection Committee. In addition, after evaluation by the iDEA Selection Committee, the winners will receive regular benefits as portfolio startups of the iDEA Project, as well as assistance in using the “Fabrication Laboratory” created for iDEA Project startups.
