Huawei’s launched Seeds for the Future

Huawei has launched CSR program Seeds for the Future for Bangladeshi students. Huawei is a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider in the world. Huawei Technologies (Bangladesh) Ltd is organizing a competition named “Seeds for the Future”. Seeds for the Future is Huawei`s global CSR flagship program. It is Huawei’s most heavily invested CSR activity. The program seeks to develop local ICT talent, enhance knowledge transfers, and improve people`s understanding of ICT and interest in the telecommunications industry.

Students of University of Dhaka (DU), Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Chittagong University of Engineering & Technology (CUET), Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET), Islamic University of Technology (IUT) will participate in this competition. Huawei is looking for young and energetic students with great zeal to come up with new ideas and ICT solutions on the theme “Enriching people’s life through E-Service”. The final Ten Participants will have the opportunity to study and training at Huawei HQ in China. This will enable the winners to study relating the most advanced communication technologies such as 5G, LTE and Cloud computing in Huawei’s state-of-the-art labs. They will also be able to gain valuable cross cultural experience. Huawei has been organizing this event globally since 2008. This is the first time Huawei Technologies (Bangladesh) Ltd is organizing such an event in Bangladesh in this name. With competition like this, Huawei wants to bring the fresh Graduates of Bangladesh on an International Platform to learn and to compete.

Mr Jacky Li, CFO; Mr. Kazi Mabasher Hossain, Director- Public Affairs and Communication Department; Md Khairul Anam, PR Manager were present at the Launching Ceremony of “Seeds for the Future” along with other Huawei officials. In his speech Mr Jacky Li said that, “The recent success of Bangladeshi students in international arena are worthy of high praise. To encourage them further in their quest to achieve both academic and industrial excellence we have brought our ‘Seeds of the Future’ program to Bangladesh. With this program the students will be able to pit against on other. The winners will get firsthand learning experience of an international environment”. This event will began from the first week of June.

Huawei’s products and solutions have been deployed in over 170 countries, serving more than one third of the world’s population. Huawei has also established more than 16 R&D centers around the world. Huawei Consumer BG is dedicated to bringing the latest technology to consumers, offering a world of possibilities and creating extraordinary experiences for people everywhere. In Bangladesh Huawei is the telecom infrastructure partner of majority of the operators. It has a significant grasp in the Bangladeshi smartphone market with its affordable to premium quality handsets.
