How to Obtain a Dominica Passport Through Citizenship by Investment: A Complete Guide

Acquiring a Dominican passport through the Citizenship by Investment (CBI) program is one of the most affordable and straightforward ways to secure second citizenship. Established in 1993, Dominica’s CBI program offers foreign investors two main paths to citizenship: a donation to the Economic Diversification Fund (EDF) or a real estate investment in pre-approved properties.

The EDF option requires a non-refundable donation of at least $100,000 for a single applicant, while a family of four must contribute $175,000. The fund supports various public sector projects in Dominica, including improvements in education, healthcare, and infrastructure. Alternatively, investors can choose to invest a minimum of $200,000 in government-approved real estate, primarily in luxury hotels or resorts. This property must be held for at least three years, with the possibility of resale after five years.

In addition to the investment, applicants must pay government processing fees, which start at $25,000 for single applicants and rise for larger families. A thorough due diligence process ensures that all applicants undergo financial and criminal background checks, with fees starting at $7,500 for the main applicant. Processing time usually takes between three and six months.

Once approved, individuals and their families are granted full citizenship, including a Dominican passport. The passport provides visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to over 140 countries, including the United Kingdom, the European Union’s Schengen Area, Singapore, and Hong Kong, making it one of the most desirable passports in the Caribbean.

The Dominica Citizenship by Investment Program requires no physical residency, language tests, or interviews, making it an attractive option for high-net-worth individuals seeking global mobility and a secure second home.

For more information on how to apply for Dominica’s Citizenship by Investment Program, potential applicants are encouraged to visit the government’s official CBI website or contact a licensed agent to assist with the application process.
