Four member’s company of Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) have got Asia Smart App Awards 2024.The Wireless Technology Industry Association (WTIA) of Hong Kong organized the award at New World Millennium Hotel in Hong Kong.
This year, Bangladesh made a remarkable impact with four companies receiving this Awards in various categories. The companies are Skylark Soft Limited, Shadhin Music Limited and CTrends Software & Services Ltd.
Skylark Soft Limited: Awarded in the Business & Commercial Category for their innovative product, Pro Tracker, a real-time garment production tracking application that has revolutionized the manufacturing industry. Squad Innovators: Honored in the Lifestyle & Entertainment Category for Day Planning, a smart app designed to enhance daily scheduling and productivity, making it easier for users to manage their time efficiently.
Shadhin Music Limited: Also recognized in the Lifestyle & Entertainment Category for Shadhin Music, a music streaming application that offers an extensive and diverse range of music content, catering to varied musical tastes. CTrends Software & Services Ltd: Commended in the Public Sector & Social Innovation Category for The Citizen, an app aimed at improving public sector services and fostering social innovation through its user-friendly platform.
Earlier of the announcement of the awards, Tanvir Hossain Khan, Regional & Global Judge of the award and former Director of BASIS joined a panel discussion where he mentioned that, “It has been an incredible honor to represent BASIS and Bangladesh as a judge for the Asian Smart App Award 2024. The fact that four of our member companies have won in three separate categories reflects Bangladesh’s growing expertise and global competitiveness in the tech industry.
“In addition to serving as a judge, I also participated in a panel titled ‘Bridging the Digital Divide and Accelerating ICT Advancement in Asia’ during the event. In this session, I focused on the importance of developing policies, overcoming regulatory challenges, and addressing barriers to foster an ecosystem where frontier technologies such as AR/VR, AI, Blockchain, and Cybersecurity can thrive. Some initiatives should be taken including initiate government awareness programs, establish experience zones, offer tax credits for R&D, provide tax incentives for frontier tech startups/SMEs, and ensure public-private-academia collaboration on policy development,” he added.

However, the Asia Smart App Awards 2024 recognized the innovation and technological prowess of smart application developers from across Asia. BASIS’s participation at the Asian Smart App Award highlights its commitment to supporting and promoting the innovation coming out of Bangladesh.
