Evaly celebrated its first anniversary in a brighter setting. E-commerce-based Marketplace Evaly celebrates the inspiration of the Great Victory Day of the nation by echoing the slogan, “Victory is ours, let’s move forward!” (Bijoy Amader, Amader Egiye Jawa!)
The celebration was held on Monday (December 7th) at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) adjacent to the Purbachal 300ft Road in the capital with around 5,000 invited guests. The invited guests were attended by about 3,000 customers, thousands of sellers, prominent people of different levels and media professionals.
At the beginning of the event, the digital documentary was presented with a portion of Evaly’s last one year activities for the guests. Then the entrepreneur and CEO of the company Mohammad Rassel spoke. “We are only one year old,” he said. “In any context of e-commerce, a year is a very short time. However, in this short time we have achieved some great successes The number of subscribers registered on our platform is over 12 lakhs, more than 25,000 sellers or merchants. The Android app has been downloaded for more than half a million times from the Google Play Store. The biggest thing is that shopping in e-commerce is not expensive at all rather one of the most trustworthy and fits in the budget; that we successfully made our customers to believe. There are now more than two hundred employees working directly in our Evaly. Half of them are female workers. Also the sellers that are with us are hiring staff on their behalf. We have a lot of sellers especially in cities outside Dhaka. In all, we are trying to build an eco-system that we believe to create for a sustainable positive environment in e-commerce in this country” – he added.
Expressing gratitude to everyone for the success of Evaly, Russell said, “When we talk about our success, we actually talk about the success of you all. Evaly being native initiative is an asset of the country, owned by all of you. Our Facebook group has about 1.5 lac members, the largest of any e-commerce operated in Bangladesh. But that’s all was possible by you. This would not have been possible without the constant support of customers, sellers and media and media workers. We want to take you all forward.
Later, the formality of the banquet was concluded with a dinner and a pleasant cultural event. Hero, TVS Bangladesh, Walton and Esquire Electronics sponsored the event. Uddom was the event partner. As media partners were RTV, News24, Daily Kaler Kanta, Radio Capital, BanglaNews24, The Daily Sun; Payment Partner Bkash and SSL Commerce.
