Standard Chartered Bank participated for the first time in Bangladesh ICT EXPO showcasing its newly launched ERQ Account for ICT freelancers and outsourcing professionals.
In association with BASIS, the bank had launched on 8 June 2015 a unique proposition for the individual freelancers / professionals involved in outsourced service exports with a bundle of a Savings Account and an US Dollar ERQ (Exporter Retention Quota) account.
The customer can receive the proceeds of inward remittances as payment against outsourcing services. And maximum 60% of such proceeds can be parked in the ERQ (Exporter Retention Quota) account in foreign currency and the remainder in local currency savings account. Moreover, the customer will get free VISA International Debit Card through which online purchases and payments in US Dollar will become very convenient. To facilitate, BASIS will issue testimonial / certificate to the applicants which will help them to avail the offer of the bank. The application form of this testimonial can be downloaded from the BASIS website (www.basis.org.bd).
In the exposition, high enthusiasm and keen interest have been observed among the freelancers and ICT professionals involved in outsourced services. The Bank’s offer in association with BASIS will definitely help this group of individuals to better manage their financial needs.
