edotco & ZASS Telecom partners to bring Methanol Fuel Cell (s) Deployment for the first time in Bangladesh

edotco Group (“edotco”), an end-to-end integrated telecommunications infrastructure services company and Zass Energy Services (ZES) today announced the deployment of the first ever Methanol based Fuel Cell(s) in Bangladesh.

The Liquid Methanol fuel cell uses greener fuel and operates more efficiently, reducing both noise and environmental pollution. This solution also serves as a viable alternative for diesel generators ensuring reliable
power at sites.

Benefits of this new solution include:
• Fuel cell (s) solutions ensure less carbon emission
• Locally available environment-friendly fuel option of methanol mixed with water.
• Safe & no health Hazard
• Less Foot Print is required; comparing to Diesel generator (DG) .
• Monthly operating expense (OpEx) is less comparing to DG based on usages
• Reliable & Improved availability
• Fuel (Diesel) theft issue will be zero as methanol is of no use
• Fuel cell hardware is very simple and easy for maintenance.

Zass Telecom (Ltd.) (ZES) is the first company in Bangladesh to make the Methanol Fuel Cell based power systems commercially available, these systems are deployed in partnership with edotco Bangladesh sites for a 6 month trial.

Rahul Chaudhary, Country Managing Director of edotco Bangladesh states that “Frequent load shedding specially in summer in Bangladesh affects the availability of Base Transceiver Station (BTS) service. Diesel generators cause pollution in the form of carbon emissions and noise. Edotco is committed to ensure less carbon emission through its continuous innovation and digitalization. This commitment leads us to deploy upgraded solutions that offer environmental safety and customer satisfaction at the same time by ensuring best service quality.

ZASS CEO, Towfique Malek states that “A range of Hydrogen Fuel Cells are offered to qualified agencies and enterprises to power ‘mission and data critical’ industrial application devices such as surveillance systems, sensors, detectors, pumps, compressors, communications & telecom, signaling and many more. We offer selected 200W, 3KW, 5KW and 10KW ‘outdoor ready’ fuel cell systems. These systems are noise free, environment friendly, less maintenance required, and are emissions & pollution free. Methanol will be used as fuel for Fuel Cells which are locally available, green and independent of price fluctuations compared to fossil-based fuel like diesel & octane.”
