Digital World 2015, a 4 day international event will be held from February 9-12, 2015. ICT Division and BASIS will organize the program jointly as the previous year.
A Press Release was arranged at BCC Bhaban, Dhaka to circulate all about the program to media. Mr Zunaid Ahmed Palak, MP, State Minister of ICT Division was present at the program as chief guest. Besides, Mr Shyam Sunder Sikder, Secretary of ICT Division, Executive director of BCC, Mr S M Ashraful Islam, Program Director of a2i project of Prime Minister’s Office, Mr. Kabir Bin Anwar and acting President of BASIS Mr. Russell T. Ahmed were also present at the program.
The state Minister Mr. Palak said that, we have organized Digital World in 2012 and 1014. Before that we arranged e-Asia successfully. We are going to arrange Digital world 2015 with all the previous experiences. We are eagerly expecting that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the idealist of Digital Bangladesh, will inaugurate the Digital World 2015. We also hope that Prime Minister’s Advisor for ICT affairs Mr. Sajeeb wazed Joy will be present on the program to inspire us.
Information technology is the key to the mass people empowerment and poverty elimination. Bangladesh is going ahead utilizing the benefits of Information technology. As we are in a global world now, we want to show our successes to the world. Digital world will open the door for us in this connection. It will add value to the relentless initiatives of Government to make Digital Bangladesh.
The Secretary of ICT Division said, the initiatives such as digital world are needed to showcase our country in the world. As a part of this, Government has been organizing Digital World for last few years. Digital World 2015 is going to be organized in association with a number of Government and Private organizations.
The Executive Director of BCC Mr. Asharaf said, this times more Government and Private organizations will participate than that of the last time. Digital World will brand Bangladesh. It will attract the foreign investors also as well.
The acting President of BASIS Mr. Russell T. ahmed added that, the Digital World 2015 will be more magnificent than the that of the previous years. This time there will be a particular zone for the BPO EXPO and conference to focus earning USD 1 billion export revenue within 2018. We have a plan to arrange B2B matchmaking meeting with the foreign software companies and foreign investors’ summit with the investors of ICT sector under NTF III project. There will also be a particular zone for e-commerce for the first time to strengthen e-business in our country.
We are emphasizing on advertising in different local and international media also. Through the Digital World 2015, we will get a chance to show that Bangladesh is the next IT destination in the world.
