India One-Day International (ODI) skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Bangladesh seamer Mustafizur Rahman both have been fined 75 and 50 per cent of their respective match fees for their mid-pitch collision in Thursday night’s match.
The India captain and debutant left-armer Mustafizur collided in the 25th over as Dhoni was running to the danger end for a quick single.
Dhoni was seen in video footage illegally shoving, during the incident.
Man-of-the-match Mustafizur took all-important five wickets in the match held at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
Both the match umpires Rod Tucker (AUS) and Enamul Haque (BAN) filed a report against the Indian skipper and rookie Bangladesh fast bowler after the match finished.
Later match referee Andrew Pycroft (ZIM) fined them.
A match official said, “Mustafizur admitted his offence, saying if I stood a little aside, I may avoid the collision. It is named ‘avoidable incident’ in the code of conduct.”
