Country’s largest online platform Daraz Bangladesh is celebrating International Women’s Day with the worldwide theme “Each for Equal” this time. Besides, a campaign named Wonder Women’s Day also ran from 1st to 8th March. During the campaign Safepad was one of the co-sponsors, it’s a social project of Amar Daraz which provides low-cost reusable sanitary napkins to underprivileged women in remote areas of the country.
This year as a special edition, Daraz Bangladesh is launching the second phase of the Nandini project to empower women entrepreneurs in the field of e-commerce. This segment will provide favourable online shopping for females with easy arrangements to become entrepreneurs. Dedicated to women, this yearlong project includes various campaigns each month where there will be huge discounts, flash sales, attractive vouchers and many more. At present, there are about 2600 women entrepreneurs included in Daraz.
The institution also has numerous women employees who are working as team leads at different departments. Notable among them are Monjuri Mallik, Product Management and Payments Head; Tanzila Rahman, Head of CSR and Sustainable Development; Farhana Rafiquzzam, Head of Customer Service; Ismat Zerin Khan, Head of Legal and Corporate Affairs and Head of PR, Media & Communications, Shayantani Twisha.
