ICT Division’s Brand Marketing Wing: ICT Division will soon come up with a Brand Marketing Wing solely to accommodate the marketing need of the industry.
Integrated Marketing: A very innovative approach of cross promotion where every industry and departments of Govt. will promote each other both locally and globally.
This year’s Digital World promises to be bigger and better than ever before. As a part of Digital World 2015, CXO Summit on `Branding Bangladesh ICT: Taking Business to the Global Forefront` was held on 11th February evening. Grameen Phone Ltd. and BASIS jointly organizing this CXO Summit where C-level executives from hundreds of businesses and corporate houses have took part. Mr. Shahriar Alam, MP, Hon`ble State Minister, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Mr. Zunaid Ahmed Palak, MP, Hon`ble State Minister, ICT Division, Ministry of Post, Telecommunication and Information Technology were present at the program. In addition to that BASIS President Shameem Ahsan, Branding and Marketing Persona Shomi Kaysar, International Cricket Council Chairman Mustafa Kamal MP, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer of Grameenphone Mahmud Hossain etc were present in the panel.
The event was conducted by BASIS Senior Vice President Russel T. Ahmed. This is a gala event inviting the top leaders in numerous industries to celebrate the continuing journey of Digital World. The guests of this event are some of the most revered individuals in Bangladeshi business.
The panel throughout the discussion highlighted some key aspects of the ICT industry of Bangladesh. The panelists discussed how Bangladesh was on the verge from being a labor dependent industry to a talent exporting conglomerate. ICT State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak during the discussed made it clear that with clear directives from the Prime Minister, ICT industry in Bangladesh has undergone some radical change. The result of the shift is already visible and in next couple of years the difference is going make a positive impact on the nation’s economy. State Minister Shahriar Alam, while answering a question, said that its time to go forward and promote Bangladesh as a brand itself. Shomi Kaysar added to that by urging the government to promote the success stories of ICT in Bangladesh.
BASIS Senior VP Russel T Ahmed also made a point of promoting Bangladesh as an ICT destination with some out-of-box approach. Instead of Ministry of Tourism, he suggested the promotion of Bangladesh as an ICT destination should be carried out in a different manner.
The speakers also agreed that the current government has always given special preference and importance to ICT. With the help of the government and its various initiatives, the young generation is being able to contribute to the ICT sector. They are also trying to push for better economic growth. Many multinational corporations are now showing interest in setting up offices or doing business with Bangladesh. Companies such as Samsung, Google have already started functionality in Bangladesh.
