The Haryana government on Monday announced that it will honour the woman passenger who shot the daring incident of two girls taking on three youths who were trying to molest them in a Haryana Roadways bus.
The woman passenger, who is said to be pregnant, was the only one, among the passengers, to object to the indecent behaviour of the three youth with the two college-going sisters.
The youth had started harassing her too. No other passenger in the bus, including men, helped the two girls or the woman. “The video shot by the lady passenger had exposed the wrongdoing of the youth. She has helped both the girls, Ms. Pooja and Ms. Aarti, as all three accused have been identified and nabbed by police with the help of visual shots,” a state government spokesman said here Monday.
The accused youth were sent to judicial custody by a court in Rohtak for five days Monday. Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar announced Monday that the sisters would be presented cash awards on the occasion of Republic Day.
The girls displayed courage by attacking the three youth who tried to molest them in a moving bus of Haryana Roadways in Rohtak Friday. The driver and conductor of the bus, in which the incident took place and from which the girls were pushed out, have been suspended for failing to control the situation, not informing police and not helping the girls in distress.
