Officials of the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC), regulator of country’s telecommunication, have recently visited the smartphone manufacturing plant of the global smartphone manufacturer vivoin Bangladesh.
Brig. Gen.Shahidul Alam, Director General of Spectrum Division of BTRC, lead the BTRC visiting team and expressed satisfaction over the use of the latest global technology in this smartphone manufacturing plant.
Mr. David, Product Director of vivo Bangladesh, accompanied the BTRC visiting team while visiting various sections of the manufacturing plant and answered queries. Then they joined some discussion rounds and exchange views on various issues.
At the end of the visit, highlighting the safety measures and environmental aspects of the factory, Brig. Gen. Shahidul Alam said, “The security system of the vivo smartphone manufacturing plant is very decent. They also keep their concern eyes on the environmental issues.”
Expressing satisfaction over the uses of latest technology, he also said, “vivo uses state-of-the-art technology in its plant. They can alsoset up a Research and Development (R&D) Centre here.”
Md. Mehfuz Bin Khaled, Deputy Director of Spectrum Division of BTRC; Md. Akramul Haque, Assistant Director; Shahadat Hossain, Assistant Director and Sohana Parvin, Deputy Assistant Director of Spectrum Division of were also present during the factory visit.
vivo established its smartphone manufacturing plant in Narayanganj near Dhaka in 2019. Most of the employees of this factory are Bangladeshi. It is known that almost 20 lakh units of smartphones are assembled & produced in this plant every year.
