bKash Limited, the largest mobile financial service provider in the country and Bishwo Shahitto Kendro, today, rolled out this year’s first book reading program at BN College in the city amid distribution of books among the students under the ‘Nationwide Enrichment (Book Reading) Program.’
Professor Abdullah Abu Sayeed, Founder and Chief Executive of Bishwo Shahitto Kendroand Kamal Quadir, Chief Executive Officer of bKash jointly inaugurated the program by handing over books to the students.
Major General Sheikh Md Monirul Islam (retd), Chief External & Corporate Affairs Officer of bKash, Commodore Mohammad Anwar Hossain, Chairman Governing body and Principle Captain M. Moslehuddin (retd.) of BN College Dhaka were also present at the program held at the BN College auditorium at Mirpur, Dhaka.
bKash, as a responsible corporate citizen, has been associated with the book reading program of Bishwo Shahitto Kendrosince 2014 to nurture the spirit of reading to the upcoming generation and community at large. The company has been providedaround 218,000 books to the program including 40,000 in 2019. The books will be distributed among students of 400 education institutes across the country.
Addressing the program, Professor Abdullah Abu Sayeed said, “Reading books awakens our souls, gives us wisdom andsparks imagination, which are very crucial to building a society full of knowledge and enlightenment”. He also thanked bKash for book donation to the program.

Bishwo Shahitto Kendro has been carrying out various outreach programs for school and college students for the last 40 years with a dream of building an enlightened society. The nationwide enrichment program (Book Reading) is the most prominentprogram of the organisation reaching out around 200,000 students of 2,000 educational institutions across the country.
