To attract customers who have stopped using their GP internet modems, the largest operator in Bangladesh has launched the 3G Modem Reactivation Offer from May 11th. Under this package, users who have been ‘data silent’, i.e., have not been using their GP modems in March, will receive 1 GB internet at Tk. 29 (including VAT) upon reactivation. This offer will continue for 30 days from the date of launch.
GP has also introduced an offer where all GP pre-paid users can avail up to 100% instant bonus. They will simply need to dial *444*1*2# to know the target amount and then recharge to get the bonus. Bonus balance and validity can be checked by dialing *566*9# and can be availed as many times as the user wants. However, users who have bought their connection after 15th February 2015 will not be eligible for this offer.
Robi
Right now, the free internet service in collaboration with Facebook is Robi’s major promotional package. By subscribing to a data plan and downloading a special browser for Internet.org service, Robi users can access certain websites including Facebook completely free of charge.
Robi has also launched a ‘Download and Win’ contest, where by subscribing to the ‘One Store’ service, users can earn points and win exciting prices. One lucky winner will be awarded a brand new Samsung Galaxy A5 smartphone, and daily winners will receive T-shirts and caps by downloading content from the One Store portal. The contest will run from 21st May till 19th June.
Banglalink
Banglalink offers free Twitter for all of its pre-paid, post-paid and call & control service subscribers who can browse the social media site through the Twitter app or browser. The operator also has an offer for its new subscribers, where users can enjoy excellent call rates of .45p/s from Banglalink to Banglalink and 1p/s from Banglalink to other subscribers by simply recharging Tk. 29.
Users will also receive 2.2 GB internet in 3 installments of 750 MB each, and upon activating their connection, they will receive 50 free SMSs, 50 MB data, Tk. 10 talktime and unlimited Facebook browsing (up to 1000 MB).
Airtel
This operator has an interesting data plan: at Tk. 299, subscribers will be able to avail 3 GB internet of unlimited validity. Of the 3 GB, subscribers will get 1GB for use 24/7 and an additional 2GB for use from 12am to 10am.
Airtel also has an internet scratch card, which will provide users with 45 MB data for 3 days at Tk. 11.
Teletalk
The state owned telecom operator has an offer to entice back users who have been inactive for a long time. Reactivating an old connection will provide users with 1.5 GB data completely free alongside cheap call rates. SIM cards that have been inactive from 30th September will be legible for this offer, which will continue until further notice.
Citycell
The only CDMA operator in the country has got a number of exciting offers for subscribers. For starters, if subscribers rack up a bill of Tk. 100 or more in May, than their usage in April, they will receive 70% bonus on the surplus talk time.
Citycell is also running a competition where participants are being asked to create and submit a short advertisement of 1 minute based on the theme 1 GB data at Tk. 1. Deadline for entries is 25th May, and any one can enter the competition (except for Citycell employees). Three winners will be selected and exciting prizes are up for grabs!
