BASIS has given a grand reception to the APICTA Awards 2019 winners from Bangladesh Delegation. The Reception Program took place at the Lakeshore Hotel, La Vita Hall, Dhaka today. Mr. Zunaid Ahmed Palak, MP, Hon’ble Minister of State, ICT Division was present as Chief Guest. The program has been organized with the support of IPDC Finance Limited.
This year as per the standings of Champion Awards; Bangladesh has obtained position at APICTA Awards 2019 leaving behind China, Australia, Pakistan, Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, Macao, Brunei. Bangladesh has created a tremendous record by winning 3 Champion and 5 Merit Awards at its 4th consecutive participation at APICTA Awards. The winners were officially declared on November 22, 2019 at Diamond Palace in Ha Long Bay, Vietnam.
This year Bondstein’s PG Tracker in the Technology (IoT) category, ShurjoMukhi Pranisheba in the Industrial (General) category, and EkShop of Access to Information (a2i) in the Consumer (Marketplace and Retail) category has won the Champion Award.
On the other hand, in the Consumer (Marketplace) Category SigMind’s Intelligent Computer Vision Technology for Video Analytics, Inclusion and Community Services Category CMED’s CMED Digital Primary Health Care Services Model, Industrial Manufacturing and Supply Chain Category Pridesys IT Limited’s Pridecut, in Public sector & Government category Genex Infosys Limited & a2i’s National Information Center (333), and Prallaxlogic Infotech’s “Dutabash” won Merit Award. The winners of the Merit Award have received a special certificate from APICTA.
Rashed Kamal, Economic Coordinator of Bangladesh at APICTA Awards 2019 said at his welcome speech, we have done the best this year. He added, with the support of Information and Communication Technology Division, one of our major goals is to build digital Bangladesh. Showcasing the capabilities of our local IT sector is one of our highest priorities. This year we have been able to do this work successfully at APICTA Awards 2019.
Mominul Islam, Managing Director and CEO of IPDC Finance Limited, said that the 32 projects nominated from BASIS National ICT Awards 2019 for APICTA Awards 2019 have done very well. We have made the best results in our history. I am glad that, BASIS National ICT Awards will be held with the support of IPDC Finance Limited for the next five years. In view of this historic achievement, the Head of Bangladesh team at APICTA Awards 2019 and the President of Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS), Syed Almas Kabir said, we have started our journey in APICTA by winning a Merit, then the next two times we won one Champion and some Merit positions. This time we have broken all records and won three champions and five merit awards. This is a clear indication that we are improving every year. We’ll do better in the future as well.
Mr. Zunaid Ahmed Palak, MP, Hon’ble State Minister, ICT Division said, BASIS has been working relentlessly to advance the ICT sector of the country. At BASIS National ICT Awards 2019 among 35 categories 69 projects were awarded. From these projects, the nominated 32 projects battled with 327 projects around the world and won eight awards for the country. After receiving the APICTA Awards 2019, I congratulated the winners over a video call instantly. Today again, I congratulate all the winners. This bright example will inspire our local ICT companies as well as will boost the journey towards building Digital Bangladesh.
At the felicitation, Winners of APICTA Awards 2019, Executive Committee of APICTA in Bangladesh, Bangladeshi Judges and the Economic Coordinator received flower bouquets from the Chief Guest. Mr. Didarul Alam, Director, BASIS ended the program with a vote of thanks.
