The Asia Foundation and HiFi Public will host DHAKATHON, Bangladesh’s first ever hackathon where young participants will compete to create the most useful and exciting online/mobile applications for the City Corporation Elections.
The purpose of these apps will be to assist voters in accessing information relating to the city corporation elections. The objective of the event is to engage young people in the electoral process, and to develop online applications that provide free and transparent information to all voters.
Students, faculty members of different universities, and employees of different ICT professional club or organizations will come together for only 36 hours, testing their programming skills and creativity to develop a fantastic range of apps, apps developed by voter for voters! The participants will form teams with no less than 3 and no more than 5 members.
The two day long programs will be held from 9:30am on 17thApril till 6pm on 18th April at the Six Seasons Hotel in Gulshan. Participants will work through the night to work on their applications. A panel of experts will be present at the venue to act as mentors to assist and guide the participants. There will be provision for food and entertainment throughout the event. The winning teams will receive laptops, smart phones, and other exciting prizes.
