Zunaid Ahmed Palak, MP, State Minister for ICT Division, has delivered a keynote on the second day of Huawei APAC Digital Innovation Congress 2022 today. In his keynote, titled ‘Digital Bangladesh to Smart Bangladesh: Developing an Innovative Nation’ he has pointed out the Smart Bangladesh Vision 2041 and growth opportunities for Bangladesh in next 20 years.
During the keynote presentation he said, “We have achieved Digital Bangladesh Vision 2021, now our goal is to become a Smart Bangladesh – an innovative, knowledge-based advanced economy by 2041. The Smart Bangladesh Vision 2041 has set specific targets for different indicators. We aim to reach per capita income of USD 12,500 from USD 2,594 today, making Bangladesh 23rd largest economy in the world by 2041.
He mentioned, “Over the next 20 years Bangladesh will have to cope with rapid transformational shifts in agriculture, education, health, transportation, communication and in the way we work and conduct businesses. I believe that the Huawei APAC Digital Innovation Conference is a platform to bring the Asia Pacific regional partners together to discuss on how we can collaborate to innovate in this era of 4IR. And will need global ICT service and solutions providers like Huawei to achieve that.”
The State Minister also shared, “With Huawei’s leading Cloud Solution, BCC has built this National e-Government Cloud, and its National Digital Foundation Platform with unified cloud infrastructure for our national Sovereignty & Security.”
Till now BCC Cloud has served 30+ departments and organizations, hosted 50+ projects, Reduced Bangladesh IT investment 2 times, Improved Bangladesh IT delivery efficiency by 30%. And some important projects like Integrated budget and account System for Ministry of Finance, Vaccine System, Bangladesh’s e-government ERP Project, Govt. Meeting System have been done with BCC Cloud.
The Huawei APAC Digital Innovation Congress, jointly held by Huawei and the ASEAN Foundation has gathered over 1,500 government officials, experts, researchers, partners, and analysts from more than 10 countries in the Asia-Pacific region to explore the future of digital innovation and the digital economy. Topics included ongoing advancements in ICT, speeding up digital transformation across industries, as well as green and low-carbon development.

Budi Prawara, Chairman of Research Organization for Electronics and Informatics, National Research and Innovation Agency, Indonesia; Prof. Jugdutt (Jack) Singh, Chief Scientist & Chief Advisor for Digital Economy, Sarawak State Government, Malaysia; Brandon Wu, CTO, Huawei APAC Enterprise Business Group; and more have also delivered speeches at the congress.
