Bangladesh has made 3-0 in 5 match series against Zimbabwe. Now Bangladesh run for whitewash the opponent. Anamul Haque`s 95 runs and Arafat Sunny`s four-wicket haul helped Bangladesh record a facile 124-run victory over Zimbabwe in the third ODI at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Wednesday.
The win means the Tigers have made the five-match series their own with two games to play.
Winning the toss, visiting captain Elton Chigumbura put the Tigers in to bat first, but the Zimbabwean bowlers could not vindicate their skipper`s decision as Bangladesh openers Tamim Iqbal and Anamul Haque made 121 runs in the first wicket partnership.
Left-handed Tamim hit two fours and a six to make 40 before being run out while man-of-the-match Anamul`s 95-run innings was crafted with nine fours.
Although Mominul Hoque could only manage 15, all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim steadied the Bangladesh ship by making 72 in the fourth-wicket partnership.
Shakib made 40 while Mushfiq and Mahmudullah contributed 33 each and Sabbir Rahman hit 22 to give the total a formidable look.
For the visitors, Tinashe Panyangara took two wickets while Neville Madziva, Tafadzwa Kamungozi and Hamilton Masakadza bagged one each.
Chasing the hosts` total of 297, the visitors lost both the openers early as Bangladesh skipper Mashrafe Mortaza breathed fire.
Afterwards, the visitors lost wickets every now and then to succumb to yet another defeat in the tour.
Only Brendan Taylor (28) and Chigumbura (53) offered any sort of resistance as the local bowlers reigned supreme.
Arafat Sunny was the most lethal, bagging four wickets for only 27 runs while Rubel Hossain took two and Shakib and Mahmudullah bagged one each.
