BAGDOOM.com wins prestigious ICT Daily Star as Digital Commerce of the Year

BAGDOOM.com, the leading lifestyle online shop that took digital commerce to every corner of the country, received the prestigious Daily Star Digital Commerce of the Year Award 2018. Co-founder and Director of BAGDOOM.com Syeda Kamrun Ahmed received the Winner’s crest from the Honorable Finance Minister AbulMaal A Muhith.

International Affairs Adviser to the Prime Minister Gowher Rizvi, Brac Bank Managing Director and CEO Selim RF Hussain, BASIS President Syed Almas Kabir, The Daily Star Editor & Publisher Mahfuz Anam and Managing Director of Microsoft Bangladesh, Myanmar, Nepal, Bhutan and Laos Sonia Bashir Kabir also distributed the awards with Muhith. In this occasion CEO of BAGDOOM.com Mirajul Huq and other high officials were also present.

BAGDOOM, being the pioneer of Bangladesh eCommerce has always focused on bringing innovation to this sector. From establishing quality and trust to using the latest technology to personalize each consumer’s buying experience to finally bridging between rural artisan and urban mass through its introduction of Krishti, where rural women entrepreneurs can sell their products under one roof. It is also one of the local pioneering e-commerce in ICT backed A2i project, Ek-shop assisted e-commerce platform.

SyedaKamrun Ahmed, co-founder of bagdoom.com, said this recognition from The Daily Star would definitely boost their enthusiasm and give them courage in undertaking future endeavours. This award will help us to go miles”.

Geeteara Safiya Choudhury, chairperson of Graphic People Limited; Shohorab Ahmed Chowdhury, Managing Director of Synesis IT Limited; Maliha M Quadir, founder and Managing Director of Shohoz.com, and Md Sabur Khan, Chairman of Daffodil International University (DIU) and Daffodil Family also received the awards from the finance minister. The event was organized by The Daily Star in association with Microsoft Bangladesh Ltd, the country office of the world’s leading technology company, Brac Bank and Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) where Le Méridien was the hospitality partner.
