The ASOCIO ICT Education Award was handed over to the Prime Minister’s ICT Affairs Adviser Mr. Sajeeb Wazed by the Hon’ble State Minister for ICT Division, Mr. Zunaid Ahmed Palak, MP today. A meeting on the activities, achievements and progress of ICT division and its subordinate offices was held with the Hon’ble Adviser at the conference room of Agartgaon’s ICT Tower on Tuesday, January 14, 2020. Senior Secretary of ICT Division N M Zeaul Alam and director of the iDEA project (additional secretary) Syed Mojibul Huq also attended the program with other high officials of the ICT division and its subordinate offices.
Prime Minister’s ICT Affairs Adviser Mr. Sajeeb Wazed expressed his pleasure and congratulated everyone for this remarkable achievement. The award recognizes Bangladesh as a global role model in the ICT sector. Apart from this, the Honorable ICT Adviser gave various directions for promoting Bangladesh in the ICT sector. He suggested all to innovate not to imitate. Hon’ble ICT Affairs Adviser advises us to take world’s best practices for the ICT sector in Bangladesh. At the same time, the Hon’ble State Minister for ICT Division, Mr. Zunaid Ahmed Palak, MP congratulated and greeted everyone on receiving ASOCIO award.
In addition, following the direction of the Cabinet division, ICT division recently launched “Digital Customer Satiesfaction Monitoring System” to ensure the accountable of government officials in providing services to the citizens and to enhance the quality of services, which the Honorable Adviser observed today. He said the initiative would play a significant role to improve the quality of services of the ICT Division.
The director of iDEA project Mr. Huq said that till now the startup Bangladesh-iDEA has taken various initiatives for the development of entrepreneurs from the project. In its continuation, “National Hackathon on Frontier Technologies” is being organized to find ICT based innovative solutions for the most citizen centric 10 challenges of Bangladesh. Mr. Huq also thanked everyone for the cooperation in receiving the ICT Education Award from ASOCIO.
The award was given at the 2019 ASOCIO-PIKOM DIGITAL SUMMIT held on Tuesday, 12 November 2019 at the Connexion Conference & Event Centre – CCEC in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The Asian-Oceanian Computing Industry Organization (ASOCIO), a group of ICT industry associations representing the Asian-Oceania region awarded this international honorary award in the category of ICT Education to Startup Bangladesh-iDEA for special contribution in ICT Sector. iDEA project is working to create skilled manpower and entrepreneur through training and mentoring in the ICT sector, besides making a significant contribution to the implementation of Digital Bangladesh. In addition, iDEA Project has been playing a major role in promoting entrepreneurship as well as promoting startup culture in the IT sector in Bangladesh with its Startup Bangladesh banner.
