4G in Bangladesh by Nokia

Bangladesh is now on 4 trials. Nokia Networks demonstrated trial run of Long Term Evolution (LTE), popularly known as 4G LTE, here in the country for the first time.

The infrastructure service provider company today organized the landmark event in a city hotel, where Marko Lius was introduced as the new country head, said a Nokia press release.

Describing the activities of LTE, Harald Preiss, Head of Asia North of Nokia Network, on the occasion said use of broadband internet in Bangladesh would be increased massively in 2015, and preparation to this end should be started from now.

Citing the statistics of the World Bank, he said every 10 per cent increase in broadband penetration contributes a 1.38 per cent growth to GDP.

Nokia Network has brought modern network system for the cellular phone operators and broadband internet service providing companies to ensure quality of services for the customers.

Marko Lius said the customers would enjoy a new type of internet experience through the LTE.

Nokia has introduced a new application named “Liquid Applications” which would offer differrent type of internet experiences for the users.

The application would make available the updated pictures of any important place with information of past and present to the customers for the first time.

The customers could watch video without buffering with 100 mbps download speed and 35 mbps upload speed through using LTE. Use of advanced technology based devices like smart TV would be more enjoyable.

High definition voice call would be connected so quickly which would also help to avoid call drop, and it would bring additional dimension in telemedicine, e-health and video conference.

Microsoft, after acquiring the device and services business on April 25 this year, has restructured the business of Nokia focusing three aspects – Nokia Networks, HERE and Nokia Technologies. HERE is a location application.

A total of 90 operators from among the top 100 operators globally are using the services of Nokia Networks.
