JU is the only fully residential university in Bangladesh. It was established in 1970 in Savar and it is one the most prestigious public universities.
Bangladesh Agricultural University:
It was founded in 1961 and is the first agricultural research university in the country. It is located in Mymensingh and is very renowned for all its remarkable research work all across Asia.
Shahjalal University of Science and Technology:
SUST is a state-run-non-profit university established in 1986. It is one of its kind institutes and is solely dedicated to research and development of technology and is located in Sylhet.
Independent University of Bangladesh:
It was established in 1993 and is located in Dhaka. It is one of the oldest private universities in the country.
Khulna University of Engineering and Technology:
KUET is an engineering based public university and is very renowned for its research on technology. It is located in Khulna and was established in 1967.It started its operations as a university in 2003.
